Do They Even Hear Themselves When They Speak (Part 4 : Vanity)

Politics In The Pews, the Christian Post’s podcast asksabout the impact of the failed assassination of President Emeritus Trump.

The Bible teaches that there are morals tests for leaders, & the Bible is full of leaders who would credit God for allegedly underwriting their deeds. Lest we forget Hananiah lived in the days of King Zedekiah, & Zedekiah was listening to prophets who gave more favorable reports.

The CP at times seems to straddle the fence when it comes to this issue. It’s as if they know better than to outright state that God intervened to preserve Mr. Trump’s life as if God was endorsing his candidacy, but they are aware that some of their readers might feel that way or could be persuaded.

Instead of looking at the history of presidential assassination attempts, Mr. Giatti, Tucker Carlson, & others would do well to look at what the Bible says about the way divine intervention operates when a nation is as deep in darkness as the US is & is considering leadership as beholden to gluttony, sexual immorality, racial & ethnic conflict, & judicial corruption as Mr. Trump & those with whom he surrounds himself.

God’s modus operandi isn’t to intervene in order to bless those leaders in the short term. He historically hardens such people in order to proverb both them & the nation. It happened to Pharaoh, Annas & Caiphas, Haman, Zedekiah, & many others. Divine intervention of the sort Mr. Trump’s supporters are discussing often has the effect of making the people for whom He intervened feel indestructible in the way guilty criminals feel indestructible if they prevail in court.
