The Law Of Legalism

This is how legalism operates:   Legality , when asked to render an opinion on whether or not someone should eat food sacrificed to idols, do Halloween,    celebrate    Christmas, “I pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to the correct conviction because I can formulate an argument for both and since I’m conflicted, I don’t participate so I don’t violate my conscious. Bible :    The text of 1 Corinthians says that you shouldn’t participate for sake of the conscience of **others.** not yourself.  Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. 25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience. 26 For “the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.” 27 If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,...

All Are Made Alive! (Part 1)

RL Solberg says the Bible doesn’t teach a species of Universalism.   John 3:18 : Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.  This text is simply a statement of fact.    How does it prove Particularism? At issue isn’t whether or not someone who has failed to exercise saving faith & repentance is condemned.    The issue is whether or not this judicial status is perpetual after such a person crosses over.  John 3:36 :  Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. This text is simply a statement of fact.    How does it prove Particularism? At issue isn’t whether or not someone who has failed to exercise saving faith & repentance is condemned.    The issue is whether or not this judicial status is perpetual after such a person...

Redeeming The Time: Halloween

Halloween, when properly understood, is only a pagan festival if the thoughts & intents of its celebrants are directed via their own intentions (James 1:14 - 15) at/toward one or more pagan pseudodeities &/or the demons & the Demonic Realm.   It is, in fact, an extension/outworking of Purim, not merely on the basis that traditions like wearing costumes & the distribution & consumption of candy are outwardly similar, but because there is corresponding quasi-historical/literary rationale for both.  Contrary to the claims of the legalism class, a redemptive-historical administration & observance of All Hallow’s Eve is a great big act of inductive & intuitive prophecy that answers any number of pagan festivals like Samhain & the Day Of the Dead.  Esther provides the rationale for Purim.      The story of Esther takes place during the time of the Jews Exile in the days when Media-Persia ruled an empire that stretched from India to...

Philippians 3:12 - 14

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. This Is The Way!  O LORD, Hear Our Prayer(s)!

The 4th Commandment (Part 7)

The Common Holidays are soon upon us, & with it come those who complain about strict 7 Day Sabbatarianism, Christmas Trees, Halloween, & the food laws.  As a matter of review, these & other practices are encompassed by the 4th Commandment.  The 4th Commandment declares that the people are to work 6 days & set aside the 7th day out of a 7-Day cycle. It does not prescribe a Friday @ sunset to Sat. @ sunset day to the exclusion of any others. You ought to be able to deduce that the actual day or days of the week can be legally expanded.   Sabbath regulations are a package deal.  If Rigid Sabbatarianism is true, there can be no expansion of the Hebrew feast/festival calendar in Lev. 23.  There is no command to observe Purim, yet Esther gives the rationale for it.  Yeshua attended the Festival of Lights — and He did so without sinning.  Changing the times & the Law isn’t limited to the abolition/repeal of worship & rest regulations. ...

Isaiah 43:18 - 19

Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Tackling Tradition 97: Left Behind

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.  14  For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.  15  For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.  16  For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.  17  Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.  18  Therefore encourage one another with these words.  ( 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 , ESV) The above text is one of the most of cited if not  the  m...
