The Church Is Failing Women (Part 2)

What is the purpose of the Created Order?  To testify to God’s existence, attributes, & authority. (Romans 1:20).  


Rom 1:22 - 23 states that after the Fall, people suppressed  God’s image (His existence, attributes, & authority) & supplanted it with their own,  crafting idols to (pseudo)deities, thereby reasoning & establishing worship & sexual ethics. 


If women are forbidden to hold ecclesiastical (&/or governmental office) on the basis of their sex/gender, then that qualifies as reasoning & establishing worship (in this case ecclesiastical) ethics, regulations, & practices based on human attributes — not ** God’s attributes — which the Bible frowns upon. 


When people do ethics out of their own image, they are reasoning the way the pagans in Antiquity & beyond reasoned.  Reasoning & establishing worship & other ethics/regulations is an exercise in  idolatry, which violates the 2nd Commandment by supplanting God’s image & authority in favor of one or more images that are part of the created order.
