Polygamy

Polygamy!    Is it morally acceptable to have 2 wives? To answer this question, we need to draw a proper distinction between that which is moral & that which is wise.  Matthew 5:27–28 (ESV): You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. As you can see, in the Sermon on the Mount, adultery is not defined merely by the fact that he or she is not your spouse. Adultery is defined by lustful intent. What is lust? Covenant Theology In Chart Form: The City of God Vs. The City of Man

Romans 1:18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

I’ve done some more thinking about our excursions into Covenant Theology this past December (2024) in which we looked at the 7 Churches in Revelation as representations of the covenants that comprise & constitute the Covenant of Grace.   In this chart, I have included the Edenic Covenant as Patmos (where Revelation’s narrative begins).

At its heart, Revelation is the story of the Beautific Vision & the City of God in every age.  This is its story:
