1819 News is very wrong.
First, being deceived is not a sin in & of itself. To be human is to be finite. Even Yeshua, as to His human nature, but not His divine, was finite. Luke 2:52 (And Jesus grew in wisdom & stature with both God & man).
He had to learn just like everyone else around Him (except, of course, the LORD). He could make mistakes. He could be intellectually mistaken & deceived. In other words finite people have to learn, & if someone doesn’t know or understand the objectively true state of affairs, they are subject to being deceived from time to time.
That said, especially when it comes to knowing, understanding, & living out God’s moral will, if one has been deceived & chooses to live in rebellion to the objectively true state of affairs because you have chosen to love yourself more than you love God & your neighbor(s) like Matthew 22:37 - 41 & Romans 13: 8 - 10 says we are supposed to do, then one is most certainly sinning/in a state of sin.
Second, as a defender of the tradition-bound view on homosexuality, the only route to concluding that being gay is a sin runs through interpreting “natural” as “heteronormative” & “unnatural” means “homosexual,” on the basis of the human image itself, namely human anatomy & physiology (&/or psychology) &/or the pre-lapsarian state of Adam & Eve — but that not what Romans 1:18 - 32 teaches.
The text is about how we are supposed to think/reason. Romans 1:20 is clear that the purpose of the created order is to testify to God’s INVISIBLE attributes not to our VISIBLE attributes. The surrounding text indicts humanity for looking to the created order’s VISIBLE attributes to do faith & practice, so reading “natural” & “unnatural” as referents to sex/gender, sexuality, &tc. Consequently, the Bible says she is wrong, because her reasons for believing & defending her POV entails engaging in the very thought process the Bible outlaws.
O LORD, Hear Our Prayers!
